Everyday I go online (on our Tumblr page;
www.dollysteva.tumblr.com) and type in the tag 'Kenya' to see if there's anything awesome I could reblog but all I see is Slums, and Jungles. I'm not claiming there are no slums in Kenya and that they don't need help, nor am claiming that we don't have beautiful wildlife that needs to be shown off. I'm just saying, there is more to Kenya than that. And because of all that people will never know it. We also claim the Westerners and Europeans are Ignorant for thinking we live in tree huts and our neighbours are lions and giraffes but truthfully, to some extent we are to blame because that's how we portray ourselves. In fact, we as Kenyans don't even bother because 90% of the posts I find on tumblr are from tourist's who came to visit and their allowed to post the jungle cause you know, they've never seen it before. :)
My point is, what you give is what you get and if we give ignorance, we will get ignorance.
Steph and I decided to start a tumblelog with just positive images of Kenya, hopefully someone else will as well and the trend will go on and we'll make Kenya famous for it's incredible events beautiful cities, amazing beaches, fabulous fashion, the music, loving people and all that. Not just the negative things.

Because I'm no good at describing things with words, I let the photos speak for themselves. :)
PS: once again, don't get me wrong I'm not saying we ignore the negative side of Kenya. Just don't forget the positive while trying to improve it.
